Import
Are there plans to expand PSD file support (for things like transparency or LAB conversion).
Seems to be improved (one composite PSD I tried was partially transparent). Photoshop files in LAB space are still not understood.
PSD layering support is also improved. When you import a PSD file and use “Open in External Editor” you will see all the layers you had in your original file. If you create a new PSD via “Open in External Editor”, then duplicate that version - the new duplicate version will be a copy of your PSD that you had created before, with all of the layers you had present when opening the duplicate version in an external editor.
Applescript
Can we expect to see finer-grained Applescript access to Aperture in the future?
It was stated that the new tethered workflow script would probably not work with 1.0.1, which implies there are some changes to Applescript. The full extent (if any) could not be determined.
Adjustment Tools
The Crop tool as it stands works rather well, and I like the default setting of choosing the images natural ratio. Some users though have a need for mass cropping with a different ratio, and setting of potential destination pixel size as well. Will the crop tool be expanded to include custom presets like exports and other menus support, where a size in inches & DPI could be set for a “natural” export default?
Crop tool still just has ratios, all knowledge of size and DPI is confined to exports.
To expand the capabilities and usefulness of onscreen proofing, will there be an option to have the Adjustment Histogram reflect onscreen proofing (perhaps with a warning that proofing is on located in the histogram itself).
The new Color Meter (see PMA 1.1 New Features) shows different values for profiled vs. non-profiled images, though the histogram did not at the time of PMA. The Color Meter also reflects the presence of proofing via italicizing Color Meter text.
Are there plans for some kind of masking tool, that would allow a separate set of Adjustments for an area defined by a mask? This would be very handy for noise reduction and sharpening tools.
Seems unlikely, starts to stray into Photoshop territory.
Books
Will we see custom page sizes at some point for books not bound for the standard book service?
Seen as something a third party might provide, no known plans for now.
